As we go into the new year, companies are switching to remote and hybrid work. Some employees are finding that burnout is something very common in remote work. Whether it's from always staying at home with no work/life balance, not eating healthy, and lack of productivity.
According to an Eagle Hill survey, “58% of people working from home have struggled with burnout.” People have mentioned that although they are at home sometimes it is easy to surpass work life balance boundaries. We all get stuck in the rhythm of "I don’t have to drive home and get it done there, I am already here so I can continue to work", and that is how we can easily stress ourselves because we feel “comfortable” in that moment.
To prevent burnout from being at home it is important to take a break when needed. I know it sounds very simple but it is very easy for us to be stuck in this work momentum in our day to day lives. Being able to disconnect from technology and realign are senses is good to have a balance within ourselves. Another thing is exercising and taking some “me time”. When you are working from home, you have extra time during the day. It is crucial that you set that time aside for productive activities like moving around and exercising. You can feel more active and release the stress you might be feeling due to work. One last thing is eating healthy, make sure you are eating your colorful food.
