Labor & Employment Litigation Associate
Compensation: $110,000+
Diverse Talent is currently working with a client who is seeking to hire a full-time associate attorney. A successful candidate should be interested in defending cases where Plaintiffs have alleged violations of Title VII, ADEA, ADA, FMLA, Wage and Hour law, etc., and Workers’
Compensation Retaliation. The attorney will also be involved with commercial litigation.
Besides litigation, the attorney will provide employment law advice and counseling to employers.
The attorney will draft statements of position to the EEOC and CCRD, discovery, and motions to dismiss and for summary judgment. The attorney must be licensed to practice law in Colorado. Being licensed to practice law in additional rocky mountain states is a plus.
Qualifications:
Candidates should be interested in the following:
- Defending employers in lawsuits alleging violations of employment laws, including Title VII,ADEA, ADA, FMLA.
- Wage and Hour, ERISA Benefit Litigation, Commercial litigation, etc.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to represent clients in court/arbitrations,
- Strong research and writing skills.
- Membership in the Colorado bar or ability to secure membership in the Colorado bar within one year of employment.
- Compensation based upon experience and growth potential.
Litigation Paralegal
Compensation: $75,000-85,000
Campbell Litigation, P.C. is a client-focused law firm dedicated to defending companies in employment and commercial litigation and advising businesses on best practices and procedures to ensure compliance with federal and state laws affecting employers. The firm brings its clients over 30 years of large law firm litigation experience at mid-size firm fees.
Our client is looking for an experienced paralegal to join their firm that offers a friendly, inclusive and collaborative work environment. The position involves assisting several attorneys in all aspects of litigation.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting attorneys with a full range of legal support work including setting up electronic case matter files, preparing requests and obtaining case documentation, drafting complaints, affidavits, motions, and initial disclosures and discovery witness lists, exhibit lists, pattern jury instructions, verdict forms, preparation of case management, and investigating facts of cases to ensure all relevant information is considered.
- Litigation processes (Including but not limited to document summaries, bates-labeling documents, document production, and drafting pleadings and other litigation templates).
- Clerical and administrative duties such as maintaining calendars for court deadlines, organizing and indexing case file, and responding to client inquiries.
- Conducting legal research to summarize laws, court decisions, and other legal authorities.
- Providing immediate research and document retrieval when called upon during trial.
- Drafting pleadings, discovery, and correspondence; assisting attorneys with deposition preparation and other discovery requests; preparing for client meetings; document productions, depositions, hearings, and trials.
- Routine handling of correspondence and maintaining case management system to ensure all deadlines are met for assigned cases.
- Prioritize tasks/deadlines for multiple cases.
- Performing other related duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications:
- Experience working as a paralegal and/or an administrative assistant who has familiarity with paralegal duties.
- Familiarity with employment law is preferred.
- Must be self-motivated, detail oriented, very dependable and think critically.
- The candidate should thrive in a demanding environment that is constantly changing and be willing to assist with additional duties when needed.
- Experience in a fast-paced legal office setting.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong calendar management skills
- Extensive experience working with Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Experience working with docketing processes and database creation/entry/maintenance.
